Music

The purpose of our music ministry at Shepherd of the Hills is outlined in God's word:

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom,

singing Psalms and hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God."

~Colossians 3:16~

MIXED ADULT CHOIR

Shepherd’s Chorale is a fellowship of singers - high school age and beyond - who practice weekly and sing for the glory of God during traditional worship services once or twice a month. As we “sing psalms and hymns with gratitude in our hearts to God” (Colossians 3:16), we build care-full, loving, life-long relationships with each other. We enjoy each other’s company and would love to have others join our musical family!

INFINITE GRACE

Consists of vocalists and instrumentalists using their gifts to praise the name of our Lord Jesus and to spread the Gospel through contemporary music. The Bible-based songs we incorporate into the Contemporary Divine Service range from contemporized arrangements of traditional hymns to contemporary praise songs.

Anyone interested in making music with the team is welcome to speak with our Contemporary Music Leader, who will set up a time to try out or have you join in a rehearsal. We are always looking for new team members!

Rehearses in the gym: Tuesday 6:30-8:00 pm and Sunday 8:00-9:00 am

The Instrumental Ensemble provides music for traditional worship. We range in age from grade school to very mature and from beginners to long-time instrumental musicians. We would love to expand our family! We also have opportunities for individual instrumentalists and small group ensembles.

Praise the LORD! —in His sanctuary, with instruments and dance, with singing, with a new song, letting the children rejoice, in speech and action, from the rising of the sun to its setting, with the whole heart, in the midst of the congregation, with the angels and all creation, calling on His name, with a joyful noise, with shouts of joy, among the nations, because of His salvation and love and mercy and understanding and deliverance, with blessing, clapping your hands, with hope, by listening for His voice, without fear, waiting in silence, with prayer from righteous lips, because all glory goes to Him, from this time forth and forevermore! ~from the Psalms~

The ability to support, in word and deed, the mission and ministry of Shepherd of the Hills
