Apple of His Eye Mission Society is a Lutheran Church- Missouri Synod is historic mission work is the first LCMS Bible Teachers to serve in the Holy Land. 

Rev. Roegner shares the message of salvation through Jesus Christ to those in Israel, a challenging mission. While in Israel, Bob and Kristi serve in a partnership role with Immanuel Lutheran Ministries, assisting Immanuel Church Lutheran in Tel Aviv in all areas of ministry. For Bob, this includes preaching, leading worship, and teaching. For Kristi, this includes administration, publications, and women’s and children’s ministry. Both Bob and Kristi assist in active outreach to Jewish people who come to Immanuel Church Lutheran for organ and other music concerts and for Immanuel’s “Open Church”, an evangelistic opportunity to open the church doors to all interested people—believers, non-believers, Jewish, Muslim, and Christians alike—to share the beautiful interior of the church, including the stained- glass windows and the organ with 1,200 pipes and 18 stops built by Paul Ott, from Germany.  

As part of AOHE’s strategic plan in Israel, Bob and Kristi are also involved in the planting of an indigenous Messianic Lutheran congregation in cooperation with Immanuel Church Lutheran. This church plant includes Jewish people who believe in Jesus (Y’shua) as the Messiah. Bob and Kristi are responsible for raising up new leaders, leadership training and catechetical teaching.
